Kawar Arak is the fruit of the efforts, knowledge and experience of three generations of the Kawar family, one of the most well established and influential families in Jordan and Israel. Iskandar Kawar, the family grandfather, began producing arak in a small factory in Jordan about 70 years ago. Since that time, the family's expertise in arak production has been passed on from generation to generation.

In 2002, the Israeli branch of the Kawar family started an Israeli-Jordanian initiative to come up with the world's best formula for producing high-quality arak. The goal was to produce arak that would combine the best of family tradition and know-how with advanced technology that had yet to be used in arak production. After eight years of ongoing development and intensive investment, the family launched an authentic premium arak.
